It occurs to me that there are lots of Lusers around who are assuming that
they are "safe" because they are using Windows98 or because they downloaded
the worm patch. So, for mischief makers, isn't it perfect timing to
re-release some of the old viruses and catch all these people unaware? Both
Sobig and Bugbear seem to truly be back with a vengeance.

Messagelabs.com reports that :"The current Sobig virus to email ratio is approximately 1 in 17 and the virus is spreading at such a rate it is expected to continue to stay at high-level status for the next few weeks. However, like past Sobig viruses, the Sobig.F virus has an expiry date and is set to deactivate on September 10th, which will effectively stop this variant from spreading further after that date." http://www.messagelabs.com/news/virusnews/detail/default.asp?contentIt emId=528®ion=america That (apparently) far surpasses the previous record of 1 in 138 messages that carried the Klez.H virus. -- Robert Gray bob(a)brockhurst.co.nz
