The addresses I'm getting them sent to are interesting. Does anyone know how the virus gets the email laddresses? The ones I'm seeing are from my websites. Almost like it's a spam based virus... On 24 Jul 2001, at 10:36, Brodie Davis wrote:

Someone told me it 'scans deleted mail and files' - I suppose it could have an address grabber that scans cache files and 'recycled' emails and so on. I couldn't find any refernce to it's collection methods on Symantec or McAfee. -- Dylan Reeve - dylan(a)wibble.net "Um, yeah." --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

It scans the idiot's Outlook Express data AND IE web cache for email addresses. What's needed is for ISP's worldwide to monitor outgoing SMTP traffic for the required pattern of data, then identify the idiots originating said traffic, and send some people around to their houses with baseball bats to smash the fuck out of their stupid, secureless Microsoft-riddled computers. Send Lance. If they complain, give them a Linux CD or the address of their nearest Mac dealer. If they still complain, smash the fuck out of THEM. This is only a temporary fix, and idiots breed more idiots. Plan B involves a 44 gallon drum of fertiliser, various other items, and a visit to 1 Microsoft Way. That'll fix the problem permanently. -- Andrew P. Gardner barcelona.com stolen, stmoritz.com stays. What's uniform about the UDRP?
