How many bytes is 50mb?
Does anyone know what the conventions are in NZ? I'm writting a small data control system and I need to know how ISPs count data here. I know the convention for a gig is 1000 mb. I don't know how people are counting mbs thou. Easy.. 50mb = 50 millibits = 0.00625 Bytes (assuming 8 bit bytes). Or did you mean 50MB ? The answer is that ISPs will define it differently and your should check their terms and conditions or ask them. -- Simon J. 1G = 1024M Except with Slingshot where they quote: (this is the only ISP I can find this) (http://www.slingshot.co.nz/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=999&tabid=11&subnav=21#usage) "To represent the speed on our Slingshot plans we refer to Megabits (Mb) where 1Mb is about 1000Kb." (speed represented strangely) "Data is usually measured in Megabytes (MB) where 1000MB equals a Gigabyte (GB)"
