I may be wrong… but it doesn't seem the date has been officially announced yet when (or where) the conference is going to be in 2012. As its coming up soon.. It would be really nice to know so we can all book cheap tickets to chch (or where ever its going to be) I've noticed that ISOC/Philip Smith(1) have it listed 25/1/2012-> 27/1/2012 and pch.net(2) have it listed so do they know something the rest of us don't :] (1) http://ws.edu.isoc.org/helpfiles/workshop_info_main.php?id=370 (2) https://prefix.pch.net/applications/internet-governance-meetings/meetings.ic... Yeah, ummm, I don't know anything more actually. I was told a couple of years back that "NZNOG will always aim to be last week of January" so I populated the conference/workshop organisers calendar with that info. Once I know more, I'll update. Or indeed, the organisers are welcome to update too. ;-) philip --

It is indeed timely to ask; we're running out of useful working weeks in 2012 and I know for a number of folks, formulating the requests-for-approval, arranging transport and accomodation, etc, are not simply a case of whipping out the corporate credit card. I would suggest that we need to start seeing information by Early-to-Mid November, at least this gives us a solid 4-5 working weeks pre-Christmas to get approvals and make arrangements? With a lot of folks not returning to work until Mid January, running much later than that will make life awkward and drive up expenses unnecessarily. All IMHO of course. Mark.

I'm pretty sure the dates have appeared on this list a couple of times (there was an NZNOG / LCA comparison from Simon Lyall, which seems to be absent from the archive, and at least one other) - it will be the week 23-27 Jan 2012. Venue decision is pending, has gone upstairs to the TMO .... an actual official announcement will be made very very soon. Cheers, Gerard
