Affordable Voltage Monitoring over Ethernet?
Gidday, Just wondering if any network operators etc here are using or have seen any kind of device that can measure voltage/current out there somewhere on a network and we can interrogate it remotely and may even send alerts etc if drops below threshold etc? Would have to be resonably affordable, and in simple kit form or off the shelf. If nothing available that anyone can think of I may develop something along these lines, cheap, simple, ethernet, and probably 12V Open for discussion if anyone remotely interested. Regards Dan
Some UPSs do that. On Mon, 16 Apr 2007, Dan Clark wrote:

You could try the Omnitronix appliances, which do SNMP and notification: http://www.omnitronix.com/products/snmpmatrix.aspx I have no information on whether they meet your definition of affordable... Regards, Oliver

Saw this the other day: http://nagios.org/products/environmental/esensors/em01b.php Not so affordable and does a bit more than you want, but might be worth it. Nigel

Back when I worked for them - AIrlab (.co.nz) used to have some TandD wireless loggers http://www.microdaq.com/tandd/rtr-5/index.php - no power ones - but they are available. You can also do wonders with a MOXA and the multitude of serial based devices out there. -Jo.
