Hi, NZNOG folks. [ Apologies to those of you who have read this post in other fora. ] As of 24 March 2003 IANA has allocated a new block of ASN's to ARIN. The ASN range changes are: Was 29696 - 32767 Held by the IANA Now 29696 - 30719 Allocated by ARIN (March 2003) Now 30720 - 32767 Held by the IANA The bogus ASN monitoring has been updated to reflect this change. You should update any filters you have. The bogus ASN report, which shows ASN's leaking private, unallocated, and reserved ASN's, is located here: http://www.cymru.com/BGP/asnbogusrep.html I now return you to your previously scheduled Net4U thread. ;) Thanks, Rob, for Team Cymru. -- Rob Thomas http://www.cymru.com ASSERT(coffee != empty);
From the Net4U Thread : <quote> "There are some quite smart people in that age group, Unfortunately they often are a little miss guided , with the right guidance they can become a very good company asset. I worked for an ISP when I was still in school ( Planet Group ) and had a great mentor, I did some pretty stupid things and abused a lot of resources but I have to thank the boss who looked after me and taught me a lot about systems and how to do things the right way, Not to mention a crash course on Solaris." </quote>
From what I see once people of that age group are put on track in a
I am probably going to get yelled at for being OT, but I am 16, and very interested in heading in the right direction. Currently doing bits of hosting and web design (where I can), im plodding away at 6th form, top of the school in computer studies. If anyone from an ISP or the likes would like to 'take me under their wing', and impart some of their knowledge etc. I thought Sahil was doing pretty well for a teenager (before I read this) Your thoughts? Young people are the future, not only in New Zealand, but around the world. Via education and enlightenment (two different things), young people can walk down the paths that allow them to guide other people. Some people start doing that at an early age and the Internet and the InterNAT empower them with tools that their elders often do not use or do not understand. Fortunately, truth guides all generations and eventually the truth is all that remains. The .NET technology often allows the truth and/or reality to be reshaped for short periods of time causing confusion and chaos that blurs the vision and derails people of all ages. That same .NET technology allows one to work with truth which comes from a firm understanding of all of the bits and bytes and then the dollars and cents. You will find many people who will attempt to distract you from the basics, but returning to the foundations you develop at your age will help you live long and prosper.
