I'm more than happy for journalists to call me. I may be sympathetic to the USG over terrorism, but they can't go around putting AUSTRALIAN REGIONAL ISP's out of business... --- Terence C. It did go around the world a few times this one. Fristly, the story we got from our supplier has turned out to be pure fiction. The transponder lease has been cancelled on 21 days notice by the lessee, and the company from whom we bought satellite IP, is their client, and was told a huge fish story, TWO of them in fact. Story #1 is that the USG pinched the transponder, UNTRUE, Story #2 was the lessee is broke, also UNTRUE. We have not been given the true account of the situation, we can only confirm that telling anyone STORY #2 will get you a nasty letter from Sydney-based lawyers representing the lessee. Also, as important, PAS2 and PAS8 do not have any form of "pre emptive" capacity that PanAmSat know of, that part of the story is much a myth as well. We have been told by the Qld branch manager of the lessee that the PAY TV operations of the company are being "wound down". Their words. [I have not yet found out if the same transponder is being used for both PAY TV and the IP feed.] Make your own assumptions and investigations, I've done little else but lawyering this afternoon and evening... Anyway, big thanks for IHUG for coming to the rescue, our supplier has gotten "an AOK" deal from Nick, onya guys. --- Terence C.
