Problem with Clear to ihug BGP session.
Could someone at Clear please have a look at this, we had max prefixes set at 200 and it's gone through that, I bumped them to 1000 and it's over that as well. I guess somebody stuffed up their filters. 192.203.154.8 4 4768 178091 180817 0 0 0 03:17:57 Idle (PfxCt) 203.167.249.41 4 4768 177189 178948 0 0 0 03:17:40 Idle (PfxCt) All peering traffic is currently going via Netgate etc. I tried ringing a few clear numbers we had and non of the guys seemed able to look at the problem. I suggested email here and one agreeded. Anyway call our noc on 09 359 2708 if you need to talk to the duty guy here. -- Simon Lyall. | Newsmaster | Work: simon.lyall(a)ihug.co.nz Senior Network/System Admin | Postmaster | Home: simon(a)darkmere.gen.nz ihug, Auckland, NZ | Asst Doorman | Web: http://www.darkmere.gen.nz --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
I've had trouble contacting the NOC @ clear in the past (I bascially had NO
idea who to call)
The numbers +64 9 912 4990 and +64 9 912 5024 got me no where in the past
to talk to someone about routing issues
Thanks
Craig

The presence of the 4990 number in the RIR contact objects was originally my mistake. That used to be CLEAR's Technical Assistance Group, which was a triage service for customer tickets. I don't think they were ever equipped to deal with general enquiries from the internet at large, and I don't remember exactly what I was thinking when I included that number everrywhere. Try calling the CLEAR Net helpdesk and having them escalate to someone who speaks BGP. Alternatively the numbers in the APNIC person object CCNO1-AP might work. That one has nothing to do with me, and hence has a fighting chance of containing accurate information :) Joe --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Ummm... can't see anything obvious. The outbound route-map and prefix list for your BGP session is the same as for all our other peers - and none of them exhibits the problem you have highlighted (all showing less than 200 prefixes advertised). This is not to say that it was all OK when you noticed this yesterday. The session is down so I can't look any further. If I had an example of a leaked prefix...

I can't speak for others here but I don't read NZNOG with any regularity. What's the latest on Mr Angelo? Funnily enough my name is listed as CLEAR's APE contact on www.ape.net.nz - which you maintain. You can change that to noc(a)clix.net.nz if you like. The APNIC db lists my mobile, DDI, and fax (how useful) numbers.

I'll do that. -Jamie --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog
