i was just trying to track down looking glasses in NZ to check how people were seeing routes advertised by $work[0]. none of the global lists i came across listed any NZ ones. any pointers to existing lists would be appreciated. a suggestion would be to add that kind of information to the NOC list (http://www.nznog.org/?page_id=6) for ASes that have a looking glass. cheers marty -- M. Check out APE and WIC: http://www.ape.net.nz/ http://www.wix.net.nz/
these are the IX looking glasses and the only one that doesn't appear to be
an IX route server is
http://nzix.net/cgi-bin/lg.cgi?router=route-server.iconz.net
which returns an ASPATH of '10026 10026' for every search.
cheers

The monthly posting to the NZNOG list includes the statement :
Internet Exchanges
See http://www.nzix.net/ for details of exchanges in operation.
That page includes a link called "IPv4 Looking Glasses". - Donald Neal -- Donald Neal | "Telecom has a major role to play in Research Officer | supporting increased choice by becoming WAND | more open, more transparent, and by The University of Waikato | providing innovative wholesale services." | - Dr. Paul Reynolds

I'm not aware of any NZ ASNs that have good looking glasses publicly available. As you appear to be from somewhere in Aus, it's unlikely that your prefixes will be hitting the NZ IXes. Do you have a specific problem that you're trying to solve? -- Nathan Ward

Ok, that appears to be why I had trouble finding any.

Of course not, which is why the ICONZ router was the only one with valuable data in the looking glass that was pointed at by multiple people.

We had an anomaly with our traffic flows which was initially suspected as some form of brokeness with our BGP configuration. However, given the timing (around SOB in UTC+13), it would appear to have a been a large amount of data being sent and received by a NZ site with assymetric routes. I was looking to back this theory up with routing data before going to our flow data. I'm still going through our flow data but it appears that is what happened.
