Hi, If people were serious about Chch there are still some venues, being CPIT, Aurora Centre and a few others. We have just done the rounds of getting a venue for 100 odd people for a conference/hui so if anyone would like the contact details of people I can supply them. Thanks, Raph

Odd people sounds right, but 100 may not be. Addington Raceway can do something like 200-300, but I know they've got a busy calendar. There are probably plenty of others that size, you just have to think outside the square (and the CBD)... Erin
The CPIT has a good venue with plenty of flexibility - do you need 100 all in one place for the whole day or scattered around various rooms/break out sessions? I'm sure they could handle it and last time I was down they were very keen to encourage folk to re-engage with ChCh. Lincoln was largely unaffected, and has a good (all be it agricultural
based) campus.
May be a bit too far out tho.

University of Canterbury might be worth a shot - a good cross-section of the lecture theatres are back in action, and can handle fairly large groups. Theuns KRN

Accommodation can be difficult to find in CHCH at the moment. We have a massive conference facility & potential venue in the new Telecom Place Building in Auckland, it's not a hotel but sky city is across the road. Wifi built in. I won't speak to costs but I am sure that a few of the appropriate arms can be twisted. Just throwing it out there. Greg Soffe Manager Telecom Internet Registry Telecom NZ ltd.
