Re: [nznog] VF / Ihug issues with Cisco ADSL Routers
Thanks for everyone's quick replies. The trick with the 877 was to add "ip tcp adjust-mss 1400" onto the LAN interface and everything started working just like it should. Does anyone have any thoughts about the appropriate segment size to use for traffic in NZ that goes over DSL like this? Thanks again, Terry ##################################################################################### This e-mail message has been scanned for Viruses and Content and cleared by MailMarshal #####################################################################################
You only need to do this on PPPoE connections, and Vodafone DSL. Everyone else works without issue. Because they are using PPPoE backhaul, The backhaul MTU is 1500b, so thus your MTU needs to be smaller.. 1492b works fine.. -----Original Message----- From: Don Stokes [mailto:don(a)daedalus.co.nz] Sent: Friday, 27 March 2009 8:38 a.m. Cc: nznog(a)list.waikato.ac.nz Subject: Re: [nznog] VF / Ihug issues with Cisco ADSL Routers Philip D'Ath wrote: [ip tcp adjust-mss 1400]

If you use any tunnels the "ip tcp adjust-mss 1400" command can come
in handy too.
