Others have reported similar issues. Not sure if orcon are aware. Something something speculated DDOS.

I'm seeing an issue resolving some URL's via Orcon NS1 121.98.0.1 in Auckland tonight. Is there a known issue ?
Some url's work, www.paypal.com http://www.paypal.com/ does not.

Seeing problems just reaching ns1 through ns4.p57.dynect.net from here. Outbound routes aren't going through Orcon, but incoming maybe. % host -t ns paypal.com 8.8.8.8 Using domain server: Name: 8.8.8.8 Address: 8.8.8.8#53 Aliases: paypal.com name server ns2.p57.dynect.net. paypal.com name server ns3.p57.dynect.net. paypal.com name server ns4.p57.dynect.net. paypal.com name server ns1.p57.dynect.net. Maybe Orcon are blackholing traffic. On the positive side outgoing routes are quite divergent. Doesn't really help when nothing comes back though :) As an interim solution I'd suggest setting secondary server to 8.8.8.8 or such. Dynect don't seem to have a looking glass from a quick google search. Ben. On Thu, Dec 17, 2015 at 08:36:39PM +1300, Stuart Campbell wrote:

Seems like it’s not just Orcon,
One of my upstream path (Kordia -> Vocus -> Amazon AUS) isn’t working either.

Vodafone wholesale does, however the route goes to LA instead of Aus.

Anyone with direct Amazon public peering able to confirm whether Amazon AUS is the issue?

Seems that even shutting down Orcon sessions doesn't fix it.
Would be curious if anyone knows what's happening.
