On the same topic, did anyone get spammed by someone who is trying to get elected? protip - trawling the WHOIS database (or buying a spam list off someone else who has) for contact details to send spam to so you can try to get yourself elected to the EC of the Internet body that maintains that same WHOIS database is a really dumb idea. -- Nathan Ward

Yep, several emails from a "Desi S Valli" arrived in my inbox. Wasn't entirely impressed. -- -Michael Fincham System Administrator, Unleash www.unleash.co.nz Phone: 0800 750 250 DDI: 03 978 1223 Mobile: 027 666 4482

Me Three. I'd suggest that if anything, it was a counter-productive move. I'd vote for the other guy by default! (I'd actually skipped the email, assuming it was spam, until this thread prompted me to go back and find it. Perhaps that's a bit telling, also...)

Arriving as it did with only HTML content and without a terribly promising subject line, I too disregarded it. Until I got a second copy :( -- -Michael Fincham System Administrator, Unleash www.unleash.co.nz Phone: 0800 750 250 DDI: 03 978 1223 Mobile: 027 666 4482

I was going to say... Got his email three times... 1. my private email 2. my work email (directed to me) 3. one of the RT queues... I don't know why, Jamie might correct me, but I don't think I have any voting rights... Why can't I vote for Jonny ? On Fri, 2009-02-20 at 15:42 +1300, Michael Fincham wrote:
