Well, I'm not sorry I called Michael on this but I have one thing to say...
Sheee-it! If I ever make a stupid public mistake on this list, please let me have the good sense to publically and promptly apologise.
Indeed. Instead, I got the following charming personal "apology" from Michael Hallager the spammer: --<cut>-- And I will likewise about yourself. grow up. your name is now on the blacklist. you will not be contacted again.

So while all this was going on, did anyone notice the 6 or so hour TelstraClear outage? :D

This afternoon, started around 4ish I think. (can check tomorrow at work) and ended about 10.30 tonite. I don't know exactly what it covered but I suspect it was quite large as the pseudo tech on the help desk knew all about it (which is unusual unless it's big) and asked if I wanted to be contacted when it was fixed "if they had the enough staff available to do the contacting!" (Did I mention I was on hold for 45 minutes before actually managing to speak to someone?) It definately hit Dunedin. (Damn I wish there were more ways out of here than just TC, T, BCL, and a VSAT setup) :D

Hit Wellington hard. Took Tim and Joy offline, in Lower and Upper Hutt respectively. Apparently they had some kind of core network melt-down. -- Matthew Poole "Don't use force. Find a larger hammer."
Affected me for about 1 hour in Chch on Cable... Took 20 minutes on hold to get to the tech... I am on a TC circuit in Palmerston North, and noticed no outtage except for the inability to get to trademe. Which is rather weird as I am supposedly on the same network ? - Drew

Things are still up the pole down here in Dunedin, according to TC they are try to isolate some piece of equipment that is doing fubar things with routing. Things work (slowly), things don't, thinks work (slowly), repeat loop... :D
