Don't you find posting an SMTP dialog without any explanation just as useless as one-line quips and also a big carrot for the quippers? Not sure what the point of your original post was but mx2.hotmail.com seems to be working for me. A temporary issue perhaps. Steve

It appears to be bigger than that. Getting the same error or others from several machines I am testing from ( in NZ and US) for over an hour. Or they can't connect at all or take several minutes to connect. The machines I connect to display different banners and I connect to different IPs on the different MX hostnames. I only posted a short extract since I didn't know anything else and I assumed people would think I'd post a single bad connection. -- Simon J. If it's useless to you, you might consider subscribing to a different list.
I don't think this is the operational-like discussion Simon had in mind. Back on Simon's now elaborated topic: Simon Lyall wrote:

After a closer look at our outgoing mail logs I'm noticing the same "Out of Memory" issue from many of hotmail's mta's. Seems quite intermittent & its still occuring. Earliest message trying to deliver which started having this problem is from around 11am. Steve
