Telecom "Size Core" Phone lines

I just had to deal with Telecom over a customer of ours who was having trouble getting connected and I was wondering if anyone here had experience with or had heard of the excuse Telecom gave me. The customer in question lives on Wahiki Island and cannot connect to our pool at anything greater than 13200 (if that). After excluding all the usual problems (bad lines, bad modem etc etc) we opened a fault with Telecom who quite happily informed us that the reason it wouldn't connect at a decent speed was that the homeowner was on "Size Core" lines instead of normal phone lines, due to being so remote. When pressed for an explanation the person in question could only tell me that "It was a method for making 8 home lines go over a single normal line". They said they couldn't give me a better explanation and didn't want to hand me to someone who could. And that was pretty much that. Has anyone else had any experience with this sort of technology (or lack of it) and could anyone shed anymore light on the widespereadness of it's use and if it's going to become more so. RIPE-181 parser source anyone?

Anyone know of a ripe-181 parser (available is source) somewhere that doesn't completely suck[1]. Seeking contact details

The Hunter Group who are doing the review of DOMAINZ's DRS system are having some problems contacting a few people who commented on it during the rollout period. If anyone here has contact details or knowledge of where people are now it would be great if you can e-mail me with them. Telecom Peering again :)

After having a rather large and ever increasing number of customers complaining to us about increased traffic bills due to telecoms lack of peering, we have started down the road of "Lets simply block all telecom connected customer IP's at our International Border router" most of our customers so far have been agreeable to this strategy and I am wondering what the effect would be if everyone that peered at APE were to take a similar stance. Anyone think this may prompt telecom to peer if we say "we will allow you to send us national traffic only over agreed peering points yet not internationally" ?
