Dear Colleague,
This is to notify you that one or more objects in which you are
designated for notification have been modified in the NZRR routing
registry database.
These objects are used to configure the various NZIX route servers
(http://nzix.net/) so you can expect the relevant servers to be reloaded
in the near future. The reloading of the servers is staggered over a
period of time so that if you are peering with both servers at an
exchange, you can maintain at least one BGP session at all times and
consequently a full set of routes.

If I was a visitor to NZ I might find your comment a little unhelpful if not offensive, but since I am a Kiwi and well known to many here, I am more than a little puzzled by your sharp rebuke.
The reality is there is a significant international event on here and lots of inbound visitors, many who are used to having access to public wifi wherever they go. There was not only a lost opportunity for revenue here, but we are sending some international people away with a poor impression of our country.

I have a big boat for sale down there and also have heard people asking about.
Connecting via iridium to send email is rather expensive, but hey this is a third world country afterall.

Subject: [nznog] Who has WiFi for Viaduct Harbour?
Hi Folks,
We've had a bunch of requests recently for WiFi coverage of the Viaduct in Auckland.
 - WiFi isn't something we do
 - I've seen a heap of 2.4GHz gear at Sky Tower pointed down at the Viaduct
Can anyone step forward and take these eager requests off our hands?
Thanks,
Jonathan Brewer

Hi,
We are seeing some weird issues with downloads from Akamai sourced content
to some but not all of our network addresses.
Typically the issues that we see are slow download speeds (20KB/sec) and
corrupted downloads (e.g. compressed EXE will not execute).
We first noticed this issue last year with the cut in the fibre between
Manila and Hong Kong, but then it cleared up only to recur about a week ago.
Two questions:
- has anyone else in the NZNOG community experienced similar issues
in the same timeframe?
- what is the best avenue to pursue to resolve this issue with
Akamai directly? (I've tried e-mailing ccare(a)akamai.net but have yet to
hear back)
Thanks for any advice.
Regards,
Stu
