My best guess is that it was sent to the Admin Contact or Technical
Contact. I have three domains registered at present, and only received
one copy of the message, to the address used on all the Technical
Contacts, and some of the Admin Contacts.
I also suspect that it probably only went to "Domainz Customers" (ie,
those with names not listed against another "registrar"). Which
probably makes it technically not spam (ie, existing business
relationship).
A note on the website might have caused less concern than a large
mailout though.
