Subscribers, I have this afternoon changed the list's setings so that it allows a list of subscribers to be sent to anyone who sends the right request from an address which is subscribed to the list. (This excludes people reading this through an exploder.) NZNOG list subscribers, It is easy to set the NZNOG list so that all messages go out as Reply-to the list. I prefer not to do this, since it makes it easier for people to accidentally publish email they wanted to be person to person. I would rather see people choosing to send mail to the list. The problem with setting up any new organisation and then giving it powers to arbitrate anything is that technical staff can't do that. Only big-time corporate lawyers can agree to that sort of thing. Anyone proposing this needs to think about what it would mean in practice to try to get it going.
