By the use of advanced deci-digital counting methods, I get something
like:
January: Postings 60, Busiest Day 16
February: Postings 101, Busiest Day 24
March: Postings 133, Busiest Day 30
April: Postings 91, Busiest Day 35
May to yesterday (i.e .last sixteen days): Postings 134, Busiest Day
30
We've gone from an average of roughly three to four postings per day up
till 7th May to 113 postings in the nine days starting 8th May.
Those 113 postings appear to come from 31 different people. The most
frequent posters were:
Chris Wedgwood, Juha Saarinen: 12
Dean Pemberton: 8
Joe Abley, Simon Blake: 7
Simon Lyall: 6
Andy Gardner, Craig Whitmire: 5
That's a respectable number of people posting, but half of all messages
from eight people and a quarter from three people. This may be a strong
argument for another mailing list. Maybe not a very big one?
On the other hand, there are 224 addresses on the nznog list, and all
of three on nznog-digest. And I'm only on the latter to make sure it's
working. If over 99% of subscribers choose not to take digests, maybe
they're all happy.
