I think the main reasoning behind that is because of separation within
Telecom. The retail team are separate from the wholesale team, who are
really the only ones who have information regarding both providers. The two
separate parties just interface with them, who effectively proxy the
information. I may be wrong but I don't believe wholesale are end-customer
facing at all.

I must give Telecom their due, they are trying to sort it out. But they have given a resolution time frame of about a week. Seems excessive to me when I can get DSL moved/provisioned in less than 24 hrs.
