Jamie does raise an interesting point. I have been guilty of posting
situations vacant adverts to this list in the past, for goverance  
roles
within InternetNZ - which are definitely not network operations roles,
but
responses from this list have sometimes been more useful than
traditional
advertising, I guess because many on the list know people who would  
have
suitable skills and expertise and knowledge of the "InternetNZ" way...
But I think the original posting expressed some concern that it might
end up
luring staff away from his operation. My guess here is that if people
are
scanning the sits vacants, they are already not happy in their current
role
and looking to move on regardless, so the upshot is its best for all
parties.
Further, at least I qualify the adverts I place with the proviso  
that I
will
provide beer to those offended by the ads, and I have some debts to  
pay
in
Dunedin next year...

Whilst I'm not keen to see the list denigrate into a jobs list, I'd

that this list has been used in the past by the list moderators for
exactly that. Many other folks have also done it from time to time

no complaint.
So the cat is out of the bag so to speak. So, based on the precedent

by the moderators - which seems to be "advertising jobs is ok", the
question is now, what sort of jobs are on topic.

traffic" I'd be guessing that the answer to this question is a
resounding "yes !" after all, this is supposed to be a generic
contact
list right ? and recruitment is simply another way of getting in
contact
with people that you want to do a job.
I say go hard, this is a great forum for findign new recrits and
contacting people that you would normally have to call a helpdesk
or
something for.
