I'm having a little problem with exhaust ports of some of my Cisco switches going in the wrong direction so my servers in the same rack are ingesting the hot air from the switches. Corp standard for 1RU switches is 2960s but it would appear that 2360s are what I probably want since they are "Layer-2 top of rack" targeted and have reversible airflow. Just wondering if (a) I can get reversible airflow in 2960s or (b) what is the main difference between the models? Thanks for all the off-list replies. A quick summary: 1. Looking at this further I'm suspecting that while this airflow isn't helping a similarly setup rack elsewhere is 10 degrees cooler so I'm talking to the datacentre involved. 2. 2960 have fixed Airflow (side -> back) which appears not to be changeable. Several people suggested just opening them up and flipping around the fans but this strikes me as a little dodgy. 3. "2360 = more 10G interfaces, more PSUs (1+1), hot swap fans. It's a much more robust box." 4.
