Hi all, Sorry if this is off topic a bit. We manage a couple of Corporate Proxies and whilst one can connect happily to www.xtra.co.nz and www.yahoo.com The other cannot and returns the message below. What I am looking for is a contact phone number where I can have a meaningful technical conversation to resolve the issue. The foreign help desk operator for Telecom/Xtra could only say "We have no way to resolve that issue". Thanks Gary Wagener Senior Security Specialist Internet Data Centre Ph (04) 3855237 Mob (0274) 993 895 Datacom Systems Limited PO Box 6376 Wellington New Zealand

Why would you expect Xtra to fix a Yahoo web server problem? hit http://www.murraymoffatt.com/software-problem-0011.html The link (first result on google for the record) has a bunch of things to try to resolve the issue. Popular opinion seems to be that the IP is banned, so it's possible that the broken proxy is on a ban list at Yahoo. can you change its IP address?

Based on the wording of the error message i'd agree it appears to be deliberately blocked, and probably because it's being 'accused' of being the source of malicious activity. Changing the IP might work. Contacting Yahoo might work too. (Good luck). Spiro, I actually find the concept that Xtra can't help with access to www.xtra.co.nz somewhat amusing... except I suppose I shouldn't... Mark.

well, www.xtra.co.nz certainly seems to point to a local IP (ie; not one of Yahoo's IPs). I'd believe that Xtra have no control over their webmail server because AFAIK their mail has been outsourced in its entirety, but the OP wasn't too clear on exactly where the problems are.
