Callplus postmaster contact
Can a Callplus/Slingshot/Tranzpeer postmaster contact me. We're having issue with forward emails for our clients to Callplus addresses, the clients are complaining mail is being dropped. PS: I have tried contacting postmaster(a)callplus.net.nz and this is what I got after 4 days:

I've been contemplating a post like this for a while.
Does it seem logical that we change our AUP to be something like:
'Please contact me off-list' posts will only be tolerated if you have tried
the 'normal means' before doing so.
Normal means would be:
-Phoning the company and asking to talk to someone about your issue. This
does often work.
-Contacting the appropriate people using the noc-list contacts on the NZNOG
website
-Emailing the appropriate address (i.e. noc@ or postmaster@)
I'm just getting a bit of sick of NZNOG being used largely as a 'can
someone from xyz please contact me off-list' list.
</rant>
And I don't mean to just pick on this thread. It's just been happening a
lot lately it seems.
Cheers
Dave

I'd support this. NZNOG is not your ISP helpdesk. Nor is it the Helpdesk of the third-party ISP you're having issues with. And it's not a phone directory. It really would be nice to be able to assume that the obvious vectors have been tried first. All too often, that doesn't appear to be the case. I often feel that if you're actually a member of the NZNOG target audience, you should know better than to use the scattergun approach before the obvious, reasonable alternatives have been tried and eliminated. Clearly a broadcast to NZNOG should be an option. But it should be pretty much the last option tried; give established processes and obvious contact lists such as the NOC list a shot first. Mark. Given that top posting and full quoting without a mention of beer is accepted practice on the list, along with HTML messages from complainants, I would agree that it’s a bit pointless to pillory the very occasional request for contact.

For the record, this issue is under investigation at the moment, but more importantly, the postmaster@ email address issue is also being looked at. That mailbox should (from an RFC point of view!) work. Irrespective of the community decision regarding whether the NZNOG list should or shouldn't be used for such communication, if you are the sort of person who should be subscribed to this list, you should also be aware of the NZNOG NOC contact list, and we'd appreciate specific issues such as this via email contact that way. (And if *that* address bounces, I'd really like to know!).
