Yes, I would have thought so. Although I am slightly scared of attending now, given the likely amount of beer that will be apparently forced down my throat within minutes of entering the bar :)
What you need, Joe, is an "open beer relay", which automatically forwards unwanted beer to other beer consumption nodes within reach as defined by some reasonable nearness algorithm. - Donald Neal --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Something along the lines of a Smurf amplifier might be good. Joe gets a beer with my name as the source address and he gets me lots in return - but I know Joe wouldn't support this! -- Mailto:asjl(a)netlink.net.nz Tel: +64 4 494 6162 Post: Netlink, PO Box 5358, Lambton Quay, Wellington, New Zealand -- --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

Sounds like a clear case for egress filtering to me. Although if you want the beer back post-processing I'm sure something could be arranged. I have thrown together some notes on an Auckland neutral peering facility -- http://www.patho.gen.nz/~jabley/amx.html Please feel encouraged to point out any misinformation that might have crept in there. I've also been trying to find someone at Sky City to talk to about colocation, but it seems that there's only one guy who deals with that stuff, and he's off sick today. Anybody else who has equipment in the tower (or who ever looked into it) who could give us some information about it? It might be good to organise a tour at some point. On a Friday afternoon some time, since the Empire is just across the road :) Joe --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

I'm pretty sure that in cases where the network has an excess of beer then RFC5150 should be applied. I feel the use of an "open relay" in this case may not be justified until total failure of the network device [ hereby referred to as "Joe" ] has occured. It is very important that all the aforementione "beer traffic" is delivered to its appropriate end user as specified by the sender. ###### Where do I find the details ( dates etc ) of this Uniforum Meeting ? --------- To unsubscribe from nznog, send email to majordomo(a)list.waikato.ac.nz where the body of your message reads: unsubscribe nznog

www.uniforum.org.nz I have asked the conference organisers to post an informal invitiation to the list to hopefully attract all of the nog readers to an informal meeting. There is also a great deal going on with WIPO/ICANN, and the hacking debate within NZ will not go away. I would like to raise both the issues in an informal meeting. Joe of course may not be compos mentis by this time but..... Rgds Roger De Salis
