Can anyone tell me if I need to do anything about this problem or if it will clear? I've currently got ~100 messages sitting in my queue from one address to a bunch of xtra accounts. The messages are valid and not spam. Can anyone tell me if I need to do anything about this problem or if it will clear?
Did you read the page it directs you to? For the most part, what it says is correct. The problem will normally clear itself somewhere between a few hours and a few days (depending on the volume of mail you've sent), but if it doesn't then you will want to have a look at the type of mail you're sending. Trying to actually get someone from Yahoo to do anything other than tell you to wait it out is basically impossible... Scott.

I've read pages on their site in the past and found the information to be incorrect/out of date, so I thought I'd just ask here. Reading the page, I wonder if it will go away if we just throw more mail at them more often. We sent them 150 messages in one hit today, which I would not have thought was a big issue, but clearly is. That's a big spike from us. Thanks everyone for your on and off list responses. Mark - yes, I agree, if it keeps being an issue then we'll just approach the customers and suggest it's time they find a new provider that accepts mail. Hi Don, A client of ours is experiencing the same problem with a mail server which was just moved to a private cloud (…still working fine on the old IP) As we simply cannot allow mail to queue we have set all mail to fall back to the old server until such time as Xtra/Yahoo learns that our mail isn’t spam (hopefully). We’ve just filled out this form to see if it’ll speed up the process somewhat, can’t hurt to try too: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/bulkv2.html Regards, Patrick Squire ________________________________________ From: nznog-bounces(a)list.waikato.ac.nz [nznog-bounces(a)list.waikato.ac.nz] on behalf of Don Gould [don(a)bowenvale.co.nz] Sent: Wednesday, 30 May 2012 2:08 p.m. To: NZNOG List Subject: Re: [nznog] Xtra Mail Admin about? Hi All, Mail seems to be flowing again. If someone was watching and just quietly sorted it... thanks :) Thanks again for all the off list replies as well. D On 30/05/2012 2:08 p.m., Don Gould wrote:

Hi Don, did you follow the URL in the error? And click on from there to the error description most similar to yours? Unfortunately the result of xtra.co.nz's outsource-to-Yahoo approach is that they're now subject to Yahoo's inbound (over-the-top, often) filtering policies and are probably just as much a victim as the rest of us. If you're sure that the mail you're generating is legitimate (and that folks aren't clicking on 'report as spam' within Yahoo/Xtra's webmail interface when they see the email concerned) then your options are a) wait, as it'll probably be delivered eventually and/or b) complain loudly when it hard fails. Or simply advise anyone you need to communicate with who remains @xtra.co.nz, to vote with their feet. Not the first time, nor the last time, I expect to see complaints about this.... I have had some successes professionally thanks to some advice from local Telecom folks, but it's also required Telecom/Xtra to escalate upwards to Yahoo and then you have to hold your tongue the right way.... Hey Don, Unless you have a spare IP, just ride it out. If this happens a lot, fill in the form that they refer to at: http://postmaster.yahoo.com/421-ts01.html If I remember correctly, the mail will be delayed for 4 hours. Cheers, Pieter On Wed, 30 May 2012, Don Gould wrote:
