Does anyone have a suitable rule of thumb to predict the incidence of
cable seeking backhoes/trawlers per km?
I've tracked down one reference of 'one hit per 7 months per 1000km',
without any qualification as to location. One would for instance
imagine that armor-plated cable sitting on the bottom of the ocean
would have a different failure rate to that of RG9 strung across the
local street.
Google has thus far been rather unhelpful.
