Hi guys, Anyone else having issues getting to ICONZ's IPV6 nameservers? Also, the glue you're publishing seems to be different to your AAAA records for ns1/ns2 ?? ...... ns_name_01: ns1.iconz.co.nz ns_ip6_01: 2405:6000:2:3::1 ns_name_02: ns2.iconz.co.nz ns_ip6_02: 2405:6000:2:2::2 Might want to fix that.. or at the very least revoke your ipv6 glue, if you aren't going to make your ipv6 work properly? A friend sent a link this morning to what appeared to be the usual dry research stuff but as the coffee kicked in, my jaw dropped. Videos from NZNOG 2013 are now available at http://www.r2.co.nz/20130124/ early viewers will find a slow response time while the videos load into the CDN. Our uplink capacity is currently maxed out with other users. Once loaded the files will play fine from the CDN. The videos can also be downloaded. As there was no printed programme that listed all speakers correctly, we've had to guess on some names and titles. Please think of this as a crowd sourcing task and advise me of any corrections. We may also be missing a speaker as there doesn't seem to be a complete list. If you want a file REALLY badly, try a download with a twist. Get the URL from the web page and change it to use www.r2.co.nz instead of 2012.r2.co.nz, which is the CDN. The origin server is peered on WIX and should perform well locally. The reason for using an international CDN is that even NZNOG gets more viewers from outside NZ than inside NZ., which is why we are always working on getting better quality in presentations. Can anyone recommend a DNS registrar?

Hi all, With Swizzlestick closing down I need to find a new DNS registrar, and my shortlist from http://dnc.org.nz//story/authorised-registrars is still pretty long. I require IPv6 glue and a self service web interface, but I don't need any hosting. I have an irrationally strong desire to deal with a NZ based company and I don't want to deal with a company that only seems to know how to sell xDSL. That latter point is the one I need the most help with. If keeping the DNS running isn't operational enough for the list charter, then "beer". Cheers, Lloyd

Could be 5yrs+ experience, could be fresh out of varsity etc. Do want someone from (or aspires to be from) the design end of engineering rather than operations end of engineering…MPLS experience nice to have, SDN/Openflow interest nice to have… There's some cool developments going on. Like I say completely non-operational. We are in desperate need of some licensing for an old Nortel Contivity 17x0. If anyone out there maybe has a set of keys for one they have retired we would like to hear from you, or maybe you know someone in the IT salvage world who may be able to help. Any ideas would be most welcome. We have pots of gold on offer or beer (now its operational) Thanks for your time!

WellyLUG rekindling

Hey, Some of you may know me, and some may not. My name is Hugh, I used to work at Catalyst IT, and have recently moved to Aura RedEye Security as the development manager. I have a big interest in the open source world, and have been meaning on getting WellyLUG set up again for a while now... WellyLUG is/was the Wellington Linux Users Group, which ran monthly, but hasn't happened in a while. This email is just to get a sense of who would be interested in starting up meetings again, and what days suit everyone. Also, if you can help sponsor a room/beer/pizza etc, that would be good as well, though I may be able to get that covered on my front. Hi A brief update on the status of our public NTP service. For those of you unaware of this service then details are at http://ntp.net.net - We have new firmware on the boxes that fixes previous IPv6 issues so ntp1.ntp.net.nz and ntp3 are now properly accessible over IPv6. ntp2 has a provider IPv6 issue that is still waiting to be fixed. - We believe this firmware also fixes the autokey issues but we are still testing that before enabling it. - Currently each server independently takes its reference time from differential GPS, which is very slightly different from official NZ time. We spoken to the people from IRL responsible for official NZ time and we have agreed a long term plan that will see the differences between GPS and NZ time sent directly to our servers from the IRL atomic clocks, which will condition our servers very close to official NZ time. - We're considering adding one more server to the network, definitely not a Symmetricom this time. We've spoken to Tekron International, a Lower Hutt company who make GPS timing kit about possibly using one of their products but are still researching alternatives. NZ ISP level rate limiting to Office365

Hiyas, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask...but I want to know if ISPs are setting any rules around upload traffic to office365? At the moment I'm just looking for a route....any route that is going to give me more than 60k up... (the most common is 40k...) Tried Orcon, Vodafone, HD and getting either 40k rated or 60k rated upload speed to Office 365. If this is the wrong place, can anyone suggest somewhere more appropriate?
