All,
Please pardon the slightly off topic post, but ACTA negotiations do have
some possibly significant implications for ISP's and network operators,
with an alternate route to achieving a "3 strikes" law.
Following from the issues around copyright law and Section 92A, (3
strikes and termination) is concern about the ACTA negotiations
happening in Wellington this week.
ACTA is an attempt to bring in restrictions related to the Internet
through a plurilateral agreement that is meant to be focused on
counterfeiting.
InternetNZ ran the PublicACTA event on Saturday to produce a public
statement to take to the New Zealand negotiators.
I urge you to read the resultant "Wellington Declaration" at
www.publicacta.org.nz, and if you feel strongly about the issues, to
sign the on-line petition.
Regards
Keith Davidson
Dear Colleague,
This is to notify you that one or more objects in which you are
designated for notification have been modified in the NZRR routing
registry database.
These objects are used to configure the various NZIX route servers
(http://nzix.net/) so you can expect the relevant servers to be reloaded
in the near future. The reloading of the servers is staggered over a
period of time so that if you are peering with both servers at an
exchange, you can maintain at least one BGP session at all times and
consequently a full set of routes.

Many thanks to all for the responses. It is amazing how many people offer to help without asking for anything in return. Thanks again, guys. More advices are welcome and appreciated.

Hi Folks,
We're looking to add an IP Engineer to our team, and I figure NZNOG is just about the best place to look for one. :-)
Posting is on Trademe:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-me-jobs/IT/Telecommunications/auction-282074…
We're flexible on location & salary. The successful applicant will be employee #13 & will get a shiny new Macbook.
Cheers,

guess that helps you finding something that fits way easier :-)
i'll not be of too much help there as i've never run windows on any of
my test, development or production machines and can therefor not judge
any offerings.

Hi all,
We currently look at getting virtual servers for software testing/demo. Can anyone give me a pointer on which service providers offer this and how to get more info? I guess NZNOG is the best place to ask for this kind of expert advices. Thanks in advance.

Diagnostic output:
