Dear Colleague, This is to notify you that one or more objects in which you are designated for notification have been modified in the NZRR routing registry database. These objects are used to configure the various NZIX route servers (http://nzix.net/) so you can expect the relevant servers to be reloaded in the near future. The reloading of the servers is staggered over a period of time so that if you are peering with both servers at an exchange, you can maintain at least one BGP session at all times and consequently a full set of routes. And If MED has and is allowing the deployment of equipment that is making the public spectrum un-usable and they can not force the vendors to clean up their act then maybe they need to look at opening up some more USABLE public spectrum rather than just putting it up for auction where again only the big players have the funds available to purchase these ranges (and associated equipment). Is there any one in the Manukau region using a 900Mhz SRD link? Over the last month or so we have seen a huge amount of interference on the 900Mhz spectrum that has resulted in problematic links. Although we have not been able to isolate the reason for the interference I would be interested in working with any other user in the area who may be having issues. So far we have found that the recent deployment of telecoms new system based on wideband CDMA has increased the power flux density and as a result it appears that this may be part of the problem. Opposite our site is another carrier operating on 940Mhz and from a distance of 150+m we are picking up their signal at -7db and at a power level of around .8mv/m2 so there could be some inter modulation going on there. Isn't a "brown-out" what an "ohnosecond" used to be called, being the approximate period of time between making a live config change and discovering the device non-responsive as a result? Brown-out being more expressive as it also describes the effect on the operator succinctly.
