How is this an improvement on the current situation? They're not making use of existing peering infrastructure, they're just making other providers pay for a (Telecom-supplied) connection into Telecom's network, which is an option that's always been available to anyone willing to spend the money. Here's hoping that they get told that anything less than true neutral peering isn't good enough. -- Matthew Poole "Don't use force. Get a bigger hammer."

Clarification on AUT's connection

As a couple of people have now pointed out, AUT's prefix of 156.62.0.0/16 is not currently being advertised through Orcon (however you will find it through TCL and KAREN). These objects are used to configure the various NZIX route servers (http://nzix.net/) so you can expect the relevant servers to be reloaded in the near future.
