Should be all good now. no front panel controls and 3 STBs use the same remote. <sigh> at least I got the weather for next few days. (missed tomorrow, of course) There is some blocking artifacts due to satellite reception at the moment. This is also the cause of the occasional hue. Tomorrow we will try and put up some alternate bit rates for you to try as well as making the web pages a little more coherent. But what you see now is here to stay, so you can tell folks about it. rich

Once the rollback had been completed at 4pm, we had a couple of blips, 1 early evening and 1 at about 12am apparently due to problems on an alpine switch in Auckland. Other than that, all is looking good at this stage. _____ From: robbie_gernandt(a)wilsonandhorton.co.nz [mailto:robbie_gernandt(a)wilsonandhorton.co.nz] Sent: Tuesday, 6 July 2004 8:41 a.m. To: nznog(a)list.waikato.ac.nz Subject: Re: [nznog] Internet Funkiness this morning anybody still experiencing difficulties with TC services this morning? cheers Robbie G ************************************************************************ *** This eMail may contain privileged and confidential information intended only for the use of the intended recipient. How to get square eyes
by Richard Naylor 04 Jul '04

It was a busy week end. Another radio station available - Cool Blue Radio www.coolblueradio.com 4 TV stations now available - TV-One, TV-2, Shine TV and Maori TV check out www.r2.co.nz/meta/live.htm Things like audio levels etc are being checked, changed, and otherwise fiddled with. Equally routing will change later in the week, but will be transparent to most. If there is demand, we'll look at higher resolution versions as well. I also plan a page that lets you watch all 4 stations at once - for the serious channel surfer. enjoy ! rich ps - I know the web page is "soviet", I'll get that sorted soon.

Zombies
by Simon Lyall 02 Jul '04

It looks like there are lot of NZ based Zombies sending very large amounts of Spam ( much of it in German) to some ISPs. This has really been going hard over the last hour. I'm seeing adsl accounts at xtra, iprolink and ihug, xtra dialups etc etc. As a related issue, how do people feel about a whitelist RBL of NZ mail servers, It looks like it's not good to just whitelist NZ IPs -- Simon J.
