Anyone know who to contact at WorldNet regarding security and fraud matters?
If they can fire me the contact details off list I would appreciate it.
Regards
Andrew Hooper
Hey all,
Just an interesting new phase in Facebook with the new message system.
They've enhanced the message systems with a new mashup view, but also have turned on email for Facebook accounts.
A while ago they announced Facebook urls: facebook.com/eintellego
And in the last couple of days, when you turn on your new messaging system, they issue an email address related to your short-link above. So as of now I have the eintellego(a)facebook.com<mailto:eintellego(a)facebook.com> address which can have email sent to it and replied.
Why is this important?
Well, this would be the first very direct shot across the bow at Google and will create, almost instantly a competitor to Gmail with a potential of 500 million users. That is quite interesting operationally to nznog members from a consideration perspective.
What we're about to see is a domain (facebook.com) with almost no users, turn into one of the biggest senders and receivers of emails world wide.
Immediate things that come to mind are the possible abuses of applications sending email on your behalf.
Worthy of discussion I think.
Btw… I am not saying this is good or bad… Just very interesting.

Apologies for the slightly off topic post - no conference mailing list
transpired so -
for those of you who are after a meal tonight, a few drinks and some
conversations - myself my partner and maybe a few other NOG people
will be at Daawat for a Curry tonight at 7:30.
88 Manners Mall, Wellington, New Zealand
If critical mass of people ensues then TNC rules will apply, for those
not familiar it's a order what you like and split the bill affair.
http://wellington.thursdaynightcurry.com
has more background; TNC and NZNog have traditional 'synergies' dating
back over some years and Daawat can handle a crowd on short notice.
Hope everyone had a great NOG and thanks muchly to the organizing peeps.

Dear Colleague,
This is to notify you that one or more objects in which you are
designated for notification have been modified in the NZRR routing
registry database.
These objects are used to configure the various NZIX route servers
(http://nzix.net/) so you can expect the relevant servers to be reloaded
in the near future. The reloading of the servers is staggered over a
period of time so that if you are peering with both servers at an
exchange, you can maintain at least one BGP session at all times and
consequently a full set of routes.

For those on the streams you might be planning their viewing schedule,
John Humphrey will now be straight after lunch (1:30pm) and the
afternoon speakers have all been bumped back 30 minutes (or so).
Cheers,
Gerard
Hi,
For all of you who are unable to get here but still want to watch the
conference is being streamed by R2.

Cheers,
Gerard
Is there an IRC channel this year - if so what is the server and chan name?
Are the tutorial/presentation slides available for those speakers who
are happy to have them made available publically? - if so where are
they being collated.
Kind regards
-JoelW
Hey all... any chance of a nznog-conference list being set up for
discussions on curry, beers and things to do in Wellington, so those not
actually at the conference don't have to pick out the relevant emails
from those that aren't so much ?
Cheers.
